Pierre VAN ENGELAND

After graduating in musicology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1979, Pierre apprenticed for several years with Raymond Passauro-Zuccaro.

Fascinated by early music and the making of baroque instruments, he devoted himself mainly to the viola da gamba family and the baroque quartet, particularly the cello. He has a passion for 'bow basses'.

Since 1985, he pursued his passion in the field of early music and Baroque stringed instruments. He worked with musicians across Europe and gave life to hundreds of viols and cellos - from scratch or the restoration of ancient instruments.
